When you are driving in a car, you don’t think very often about the wind blowing by, or the wind you are creating with your car. You don’t think about the resistance it takes to propel your car through the air itself, much less the force required to resist wind blowing at you.
But when you are on a bicycle, just like you notice every rise and drop in the terrain, you notice every gust and absence of wind, from whatever direction.
Today I was riding home, in the cold again, and the wind resistance seemed even greater than yesterday. My average speeds slowed, and my gears shifted down to keep the pedalling speed up.
It wasn’t anywhere near the wind in the above video, but still something to deal with and be aware of. It makes you think about safety. Which is why I include the link below:
